Icon Tutorial #3

This tutorial was requested from one of my visitors. However, since it was an old icon I didn't have the adobe-file still on my PC, so I imporivised a bit, though I think it's similar to the icon she wanted the tutorial for.

In this tutorial we will go from to

I start by cropping this screencap (from Heath Baby). I get:

First thing I do is to sharpen the base. I go Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen.

Next I duplicate the sharpened base. This layer I put on Screen 100%

I duplicate the same layer again and put this on Soft Light 100%

Now I add a new layer which I fill with a dark blue colour (#000629). I set this layer on Exclusion 100%

I add a new layer and fill this with a brownish green colour (#98a082), I set this on Color Burn 30%

I add a new layer which I fill with a light blue colour (#d1faf5), I set this on Color Burn 60%

I add another new layer. This one I fill with a purple colour (#63416a) and set it on Lighten 100%

Again I add a new layer, which I again fill with a light blue colour (#c8ebfa). I set this one on Color Burn 70%

I add one final layer. This I fill with a redish beige (#eeb196) and put on Multiply 100%.

Now all you have to do is add text or the like. Hope I was helpful!
