The thought was to kind of have them together and then the reason why they can't be together on either side of them (he's Green Arrow and she's a reporter etc.). And I wanted the feeling of that it was someone's doodles...

The Perfect Bachelor The Perfect Bachelor

Featuring: Clark Kent
Text: My own
This piece is nothing but an example of my extremely odd sense of humour. I was sitting on the bus on my way home re-reading Twilight and Bella's going on and on about this totally awesome guy - he's beautiful, strong blah blah blah. Since I'm now-a-days fairly cynical I can't help thinking "yeah, he seems perfect all right - but he's not!". And, since I'm not in Twilight-mode (despite the reading of the book) but in Smallville-mode, an idea for a wallpaper about our very own Mr. Kent starts to take form. Actually, a whole series of pieces - but I know myself and have a feeling there will only be the one...

Anyway, I've probably confused everybody by now... The idea is: Imagine those "auctions" they have sometimes on shows/movies (and I don't know - in reality?!) where they auction away a totally buff guy for charity or whatever. When they introduce they guy, making him sound like the most perfect awesome dude ever. You know the ones (I hope ). Either way, this piece is an ironic take on what one would say to introduce the oh so lovely Clark Kent! Like I said, it's an example of my weird sense of homour!

This is the first time in a long time I've used brushes like this, so I'm quite rusty. I had so much trouble with getting them right (they still aren't) and getting the colours OK... I have no idea how it looks on desktop though...

Waiting for Superman Waiting for Superman

Featuring: Clark Kent
Text: Iron & Wine - Waiting for a Superman
This piece is one of my more "futuristic" pieces since it's all about dear Clark becoming/being Superman. We have Clark (determined as ever) in the foreground. Then in the background we have the three main components of his adult life - The Daily Planet/Lois to the left, his big nemesis Lex Luthor/Luthor(Lex)corp to the right and his Superman persona flying off to save someone up in the left corner. (Probably Lois falling off of The Daily Planet Tower - if know her right!)

I was trying to show that he's getting there - he is going to be that man someday. In the meantime we're all "waiting for Superman"...

I Like You I Like You

Featuring: Clark/Lois
Text: Morrissey - I Like You
I was looking for pictures for a Lois and Clark piece to a song I'd found called "Mockingbird" - when I found the pictures I used in "I like you". Which reminded me of the song and how perfect it is for "Clois" and I decided to do a re-make of sorts. Then I didn't use the pictures I'd initially found, but that's a different story!

Ihe "story" I find in the song and in them is that they're people who have a very unique relationship in the way that they treat no-one else in that way. That they've both had relationships and hardships earlier in their life but have found something new and different from that in this new person. And that it's a love (liking) not based on "oh you're so pretty", "I saw you and knew you you were the one" and "I know I'll be happy ever after with you" but rather actually knowing the other person, having both ups and downs and accepting the person as he/she is.

Bang Bang!

Featuring: Clark/Lois
Text: The Raveonettes - Bang!
This piece is about Lois and Clark's relationship's journey sort of... I've used caps from season four (when they meet in the cornfield and Clark is in his nudy-pants, when Lois walks in on him showering followed by Mrs Kent walking in on them together in the bathroom), six (Lois' magic lipstick makes her crazy for Clark and she makes a mixed-CD and the red kryptonite in said lipstick makes Clark kiss her for the second time), eight (working together at The Planet) and nine (first "real" kiss). I wanted to show the oddness that is them, at the same time how they're equal in a way that Clark and Lana never really was (in my opinion). Because even though Clark is Superman (or will be) and he saves her (like catching her from falling) she's still very much in charge and decides over him too (her "rules to reporting" etc.).
