Antony and the Johnsons - Hope There's Someone
I wanted to show both the demon and the despair in him. Angel is a very complex character and there are many angles to his story. In the original picture I used, he stood at the front - not in the back. However, I wanted it to to look as if he were looking out - towards the horizon. To look as if he were contemplating on how to move forward, not as if he'd turned his back on something. The light in the top left corner is the "ghost on the horizon". I wanted it to be bright - not dark - because I wanted it to be a sign of a possible happy feature. At the same time, I didn't want it to be like a sun, light and welcoming. Which is why I used a more cloudy and indestinct shape of the light. The future is, after all, not set in stone. As for the blood on his cheek... That's there to represent what he is and where he's been. He is a vampire, a demon, and he's been in dark and evil places. Now it's up to him how to proceed.
